The default program to open DNG is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and DNG open easily in all Adobe image-editing programs, such as Photoshop and Creative Cloud. An alternative to Adobe products is XnView MP.
DNG is often converted to JPEG (DNG to JPG COnverter) and other editable image formats. Several programs are available for converting DNG, including Adobe products mentioned previously. On Windows, use Zoner Photo Studio, HDR Darkroom, and FastStone Image Viewer. On Linux/Unix, try darktable.
